Equipment for the Aker Carbon Capture Project shipped from Antwerpen, to Brevik, Norway.

In Brevik, CO2 from the Heidelberg Norcem production plant will be captured, and Northern Lights will be responsible for the transportation of liquid CO2 to temporary storage in Øygarden outside of Bergen and thereafter permanent storage below seabed on the Norwegian continental shelf.

Northern Lights is part of Longship, the Norwegian Government’s full-scale carbon capture and storage project. The carbon capture facility will be up and running from 2024.

We would like to thank Aker Carbon Capture for trusting us this project, and further to Meriaura and all involved parties for the good cooperation and execution.
